Eggstra Fun Day!

My daughter is on Easter Break and I decided to make the best of our days at home before we go celebrate Easter with family. I saw these cute little chicks made out of eggs on a comment a friend in Bosnia made on her friends Facebook Feed. I wanted to find them so I looked on Pinterest and found a link so I could look at the picture.

While I  was looking, I also saw pastel dyed deviled eggs and pinned these. I decided to combine them and let each child have 2 eggs. So that is just what we did. I think they all had fun. I know I did. It is not very often that I just sit down, and laugh with all 3 of them.

Tell me what you think!
I think they turned out super cute.

  2. I absolutely LOVE the cracked look on the eggs. How did you do it?

    1. You boil the eggs for 7-8 minutes and then let them cool a couple of minutes. Then you lightly crack the eggshells enough to make cracks, but not to loose any pieces. Put the egg in plastic bag with a few drops of food coloring and rub it into the egg until the shell is colored. then rinse with a little bit of vinegar in water. Then peel and you should have that really cool effect.

I saw another option of using carrots and black olives for the eyes and beak! I think we are making these for Easter!

    1. Yes the one I found on Pinterest also used carrots and olives. I used smarties (like M & M's) and we used decorating gel.

I hope you have fun making them.

      Happy Easter!
