Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Remember my neighbor? The one who helped my friend get my wallet. Well a week after we returned he went into the hospital.  We decided that we should take a little something up to show him that we were thinking of him.  I thought this would be a good treat to take. Our neighbors have 4 kids. There are 7 people living in their home, the youngest is 13. They are some of the sweetest, warm and hospitable people I know. I am really working on being a better neighbor. Sharing goodies from the heart is a great way to develop and grow relationships. I made my MeMe's oatmeal rasin cookies. They are my dad's favorite.

These cookies single handedly endeared me into the hearts (via bellies) of several of our friends here. Now I am sharing the recipe with you.

1/2 cup softened butter
1 cup sugar
1 Tbsp Molasses
1 egg
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup flour
1 cup oatmeal
1/4 tsp cinnamon
3/4 cup rasins

Ok so here's how you make it: blend together sugar, molasses and butter. Add the egg. Add the salt, flour, oatmeal and cinnamon. Then mix in the raisins. Use a large spoon to scoop the batter onto a baking sheet. Bake on 350 F or 200 C til golden brown.

Enjoy.
