Seven months, Sopapillas, and Sweet Friends

Sunday we went out for Mexican with some of our friends. They have for kids and we have 3. The youngest are both babies. It was nice. We tried a Mexican place on their side of town. I had a chimichanga for the first time since moving here.

It was so nice to spend time with them. Kim and I grew up together. She was my best friends little sister. She is now one of my dearest friends. She and I drove together to OKC. Where we both met and married our husbands. We were pregnant at the same time twice. Both times I had a girl and she had a boy. We moved to Vienna 6 months after their family did. Because our history is so intertwined,  anytime we have with them is treasured.

After eating the kids were all running around in the mall. I found it hard to concentrate on conversation. Our independent 2 year old kept taking off into the mall to catch up with the older ones who wanted to play and not be responsible for taking care of him. This made me nervous. When they invited us to their place for dessert I was so excited. Kim sweetened the deal by saying she was going to make homemade Sopapillas.

V turned 7 months on Sunday and in honor of this milestone, she was also allowed to have Sopapilla. I can't wait to make them myself. She got the recipe here. I am planning to make them next week for Cinco de Mayo! Be sure to come back and check it out!
