Tonight the kids made dinner. They made Quesadillas and Strawberry lemonade. My daughter cut up the strawberries, while the little man squeezed lemons. It was so neat to see how proud they were. They did all that and prepared the tortillas all by themselves.
I am so proud of them. I love seeing them pitch in to make Camp Mom work. They are doing things that need to be done with out complaining, or being asked 100 times. They are having fun and gaining self confidence.
We took a long walk to run errands today. My daughter had a friend spend the night so I had 4 kids. I need to be able to get things done, minimize disharmony and ensure they are all having fun. Camp Mom is allowing me to do just that. I needed to run errands today so I gave them each a sheet with the alphabet on it and told them we were on an A-Z scavenger hunt. It kept them busy and not complaining while we went to multiple stores. I love when I learn a new word in German. There was a sign on the hydrant that I took a picture of and I learned the word Plombe from it. Here is a picture of the hydrant allowing me to help my son find an object for the letter P. Plombe means seal.
In the afternoon we attempted to go to the creek to skip rocks, but a summer storm sent us back home. We played games and in the evening hung out in the house with dad. That is one of the favorite evening activities for all 3 kids. I love watching the 4 of them play as well. It warms my heart. My husband does a great job of coming home and giving them attention and playing hard like a kid. They love it and it makes them feel special!
After we built a huge lego house the kids made dinner. It was yummy and I enjoyed the help in the kitchen. That is one of my favorite things!

Hi Tamika. I love love love when the kids help me with anything. I love how they grow and learn so much just by living everyday experiences. I remember as a kid, my mom was super cautious about letting me help with anything. She had to do everything. I suppose so that it was done correctly lol. In her eyes anyways. Thank you for sharing this. beautiful.. Kristin from intentionally inspired.
ReplyDeleteI love when my kids help too. They are some of my favorite moments. I remember making cookies with my mom and both of my grandmothers. They are special memories to me. I also used to sit on the floor in the kitchen each day and talk to my dad while he cooked. I remember asking him questions about the food and what he was doing. I also got to taste and he would always make a special biscuit for me. It was shaped different than all the rest. I always felt bonded to him because of that. Today we still share cooking tips and talk about the lastest in food over Skype and the phone. I think the extra time/work involved with kids to help us in our days is VERY worth it. I am glad you share that time with your kids too! Thanks for stopping by!
