I have prayed for many things in my life. Most of the time I am praying out of my desires. I have learned over the years to try my best to pray for what God wants in the situation. That is really hard. The truth is that sometimes what he wants is no where near what I want.
I remember a time I threw a big adult temper tantrum after I had prayed for years about something only to realize that it was not in his plan. I look back on my little fit now and feel stupid. I also think back on the prayer. I know from my life now he answered it in a bigger way than I could have ever imagined.
Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us,
Ephesians 3:20
I have always loved this verse. I can find a way he has gone above and beyond for me each day. I just need to take time to recognize it. He sees the beginning and the end, we just see the times we are in. I firmly believe that some unanswered prayers are the biggest blessings. He isn't really leaving them unanswered He is just answering them within his will, while we are expecting it to be within ours.
We need to trust our prayers to the one who sees it all.
Unanswered to us is most often what is best for us!
I hope your weekend is going well!
